“As a school counselor, and a mom of two, I always look for books that have a great story and a great message. I have two daughters. Self confidence is huge. I loved the way this book teaches kids about what it means to believe in yourself.”

Book #2 in the Folk Art Animals series

Fox is a friendly and impulsive character. His brain works so fast that sometimes he gets distracted and does things he doesn’t mean to. When he is focused and paying attention, he can be very creative. Can Fox control his impulses and get focused?

This is a book for impulsive kids that can help them get focused on the present moment to become highly creative. Fox realizes he needs to be considerate of others after impulsively acting out. He then apologizes and does something nice for the one he has offended and everything works out well.

This is a fun way to learn about impulse control and is a good resource for young kids with ADHD.

In the second book of the Folk Art Animals series, Bonnie Crossman captures the comical (but serious!) impulsive behaviors of one hyper-active fox and the social interaction that ensues.

Children will love this beautiful and visually unique children’s picture book about self-regulation and impulse control (and parents will chuckle to themselves as they read along)!

Book #3 in the Folk Art Animals series

Cat is a genius…at least, that is what she thinks. Though she is very smart, she sometimes becomes a boastful “know-it-all” and puts herself above her friends. Follow along as Cat is put to the test. Can she overcome her boastful attitude?

This book was created with beautiful photographs of hand-crafted wooden folk art animals in nature. Cat is joined by her friends Raccoon, Fox, and Kitty. It is true that Cat is very smart, but she is not quite the genius she thinks she is. When she pushes her friends into it, they test her intelligence and she is put on the spot.

This is a good book for that little know-it-all in your life! Help kids see that being humble is a much better choice than being boastful.

In the third book of the Folk Art Animals series, Bonnie Crossman demonstrates just how silly a boastful, know-it-all cat can make herself look, and then how her good friends help her solve the problem.

You will laugh and probably identify with this beautiful and visually unique children’s picture book about a know-it-all cat!

Book #4 in the Folk Art Animals series

Kitty is very special. She is kind, thoughtful, and friendly. She even has sparkles all around her…but she doesn’t know why. This makes her feel different from everyone else. Kitty follows the path into the magical forest looking for an answer. Along the way, she is guided by Owlie, Egret, and finally, the mysterious Ancestor Cat. Follow the Pure Heart Path with Kitty to find out why she has sparkles and why it’s okay to be different!

Kitty follows a magical path to learn that she is a unique individual who has special qualities to offer the world. Like many children who feel different from others, Kitty is unsure of herself until she learns the truth: being unique brings needed diversity to the world, especially when you have a pure heart!

In the fourth book of the Folk Art Animals series, Bonnie Crossman brings a heart-felt message of love and provides beautiful photographs of Kitty and all her hand-carved wooden friends in a magical forest setting.
